    This is one of our favourite places! Little bit out of the way, yes, attached to a hotel, yes, but it produces some of the most creative and delicious mod Aus cruisine in Brisbane. If you love Esquire, you'll love Thomson's. Service has always been faultless each time we've been here as well.

    Beautiful old building and great service. If you are a cashed up foodie who likes to experience new dishes, chefs and restaurants this could be a venue for you. If you are looking for somewhere to go for a dining experience that includes a meal, then I would not recommend it . The Chef is trying hard to make excellent food and some of the components of the dishes our party of seven had were outstanding, but many were over thought and went too far. We got the impression there was a lot of effort put into the meals but they were overthought and crossed the line with ingredients and names that were unitelligable and included a lot of fiddly ingredients the server had to explain to experienced foodies. The servings were all minuscule and featured only the stated ingredients there were no vegetables, a trend I thought we were moving away from as people invariably dine out to have a meal not witness how clever the Chef is. While it is evident the Chef has a genuine passion for creative dishes he has forgotten it is about providing people with an enjoyable satisfying meal so they come back, not showcasing how creative they are in the kitchen. If you have not eaten at a truely good restaurant you could fall for it, however we left feeling as if we had been ripped off and we were still hungry after three courses.

    Great little restaurant. Excellent choice of dishes across breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Very intimate setting with on a handful of tables across the venue. Highly recommended. The wild mushrooms is one of my favourite starts to a day.

    The food, service, and selection of beers, were all outstanding. Well worth the price paid.

    The venue is very intimate, the seats are plastic which was surprising considering the price and style of dining. I really enjoyed the food. The raw beef starter was unusually garnished which made it an interesting dish, and the pig jowl was spectacular however I found the black pudding to be very soft. The serving size for the sides were generous. The duck was delicious (asian inspired). I was disappointed with the serving size of the dishes. I felt that the price did not match what was on offer and so even though I do want to try the desserts I won't be back.
